The one thing to keep in mind at Melt is that it is a smaller place. And it does get very crowded. If you plan on going there for lunch, make sure you get there before noon and your wait MIGHT be 30 minutes for a table. We sat at the bar as it was open at the time. It did take us a little bit of time to get our food also. To play it safe, block out a good hour and half to 2 hours for lunch. Or go with your boss so you’re both late back from lunch. What was ordered:Joel: I went with the Sandwich of the Month.
Yes, you read that right. The Mighty Macaroni melt. What is a Might Macaroni melt? It is baked macaroni and cheese with seasoned bread crumb crust TOPPED with your cheese of choice in between 2 pieces of amazing bread. What did I do to further my Melt experience? I added some of their bacon to the sandwich AND used Pepperjack cheese as my topper. All I can say is that I can now die a happy man. This sandwich was freaking OUT OF THIS WORLD GOOD! I haven’t eaten anything like this before and I don’t know if I ever will be able to duplicate the feeling. Melt, you have ruined me in some sort. WOW. The sandwich is served with their fries and homemade slaw. The slaw is a good vinegar based slaw with pepper and very tasty. When one dies and goes to Heaven, I’d imagine they serve this daily. It’s just that damned good. Chris: He went with the Westside Monte Cristo. This is honey ham, smoked turkey, swiss, american, beer battered bread and mixed berry preserves on the side. It is also covered in powdered sugar. Chris said that this sandwich goes into the Top 5 things he’s shoved in his mouth. “Phenomenal” were his words. How can you look at that sandwich and NOT think it’s going to be awesome?
Innocent bystander:Our innocent bystander had a sandwich titled “Parma, Italy”. The Parma Italy is breaded chicken, sun-dried tomato pesto, roasted garlic, provolone. The chicken breast was HUGE and enough for two servings. Like everything else here at Melt, our innocent bystander said this sandwich is incredible. Hour Later Review:If you’re lactose intolerant, TAKE SOME LACTAID with the first bite. Otherwise, you’re good to go. I mean, it’s awesome food and even if it did cause the Ring O Fire, this is one place you could say would be worth it. Seriously. Would we go back:Oh, we most definitely will be going back. This is a place that you can’t really get tired of. They always have different sandwiches to try and is just a cool unique Cleveland place. This is seriously a place in Cleveland you can ill-afford to look over. It’s a place that you must go to. You might have to wait for a table when you go. They have longer hours so try and go there at a time that might not be as busy (if there is such a time) and you might get in and out at a decent pace: West Side Hours:Monday-Thursday: 11:00am – 11:00pm They have an East Side location planned for February of 2010 in Cleveland Heights so that might help with some of the traffic at the West Side location. Whether you go now or wait, you will have a tremendous experience at Melt. The staff is friendly and attentive, the atmosphere rocks and the food is incredible. It’ll make your heart…melt. |
